Evaluation Boards

See How PCM Can Work in Your Design

Micron phase change memory (PCM) has been enabled on evaluation boards with our ecosystem partners. This facilitates PCM adoption for customers who are looking to base their design on existing evaluation kits. Below are links to current partners who have enabled PCM on their platforms.

If you'd like to see PCM enabled on an evaluation board that is not listed here, please contact your Micron sales representative or authorized distributor. If you do not have a contact, use our Sales Office and Rep Lookup to find a sales office and manufacturer's representative near you.

Digilent Evaluation Boards

  • The Nexys™3 digital system development platform features Micron serial PCM [P5Q] and Micron parallel PCM [P8P] devices. For more information and to order an evaluation kit, go to: Nexys3
  • The Nexys2 is a powerful digital system design FPGA platform that can access Micron’s P5Q PCM device through a Digilent PmodSF2 peripheral module. For more information and to order an evaluation kit, go to: Nexys2; PmodSF2
  • The Digilent Cerebot™ 32MX4 board is a powerful microcontroller development board that can access Micron’s P5Q PCM device through a Digilent PmodSF2 peripheral module. For more information and to order an evaluation kit, go to: Cerebot32MX4

Nu Horizons® Portable Instrumentation Demonstration Board

This solution provides a guide to designing a handheld, battery-based instrument used for signal measurements with complex computation and data logging. It involves multiple devices, including a Micron P5Q PCM as a high-capacity, nonvolatile memory with a fast write time to store the measured data and the associated data-logging information.

For more information on the design or to download an application note that illustrates key design considerations, visit Nu Horizons® Portable Instrumentation Demonstration Board.

Renesas Demo Kit for RX62N MCUs

  • A Micron P5Q PCM device is provided on the RX62N RDK for user nonvolatile storage.
  • PCM memory has greater write endurance (1 million cycles), overwrite capability (no erase required), and program speed than standard serial Flash. The 128Mb P5Q device is accessed by the SPI bus.
  • Target applications:
    - Consumer audio
    - Gaming
    - Communications
    - User code and application debugging
